Having played around with various DIY options over the years, I thought it was time to create a proper web presence, complete with access to all my original music.

Whilst music of the world revolves around music streaming, it is heavily controlled by the larger players which means that small independents are somewhat at the mercy of decisions made by the large corporations.

I’ve had my music on the streaming platforms and on Bandcamp to date, but have become increasingly uncertain about how either approach will pan out going forward. And so the best way to counter this uncertainty is to have a place I can host myself.

It’s not perfect; most consumer eyes are glued to the major streaming services. But these are changing fast and it’s better to be prepared than to have to scramble around at the last minute trying to get back online following a change upstream.
